During the restoration, tombstones had to be moved back to their original locations, as they had all been shuffled about like so many playing cards, when the cemetery had been prepared for turning into a car park and garages in the 1930's. Reconstructed box tombs are visible on the right and left. The Mercado tombstone is clearly visible. Fragments of children's gravestones are arranged on top of the tomb in the foreground.
